Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: Plant next day functions: figure actual increase in biomass

The calculation of actual new growth from photosynthesis is quite simple, after all the potential calculations leading up to it. The potential biomass increase calculated previously is multiplied by the general growth constraint (which was combined from the temperature, aeration, water, N and P constraints). This product is multiplied by the adjustment to biomass when the leaf area index is declining.

Finally, if the day length is below the minimum day length for growth (the shortest day length of the year plus one hour), no new growth can occur so the actual increase in biomass is set to zero. This last bit is a brute force way of stopping plant growth seasonally and could probably be refined to something more specific.
