Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: How to change the default soil type

The default soil type is the soil type chosen by default when you create a new soil patch. You can choose another soil type when you create a soil patch using the soil patch basic parameters window.

To change the default soil type, choose Simulation from the Options menu on the garden window. The simulation options window will appear.

In the simulation options window, click on the Soil general button at the bottom. At the top of the Soil patches panel, find the drop-down list box labeled Default soil type for new soil patch. Click on that box and choose another soil type from the list.

If you would like to load a soil type from another library file, click the ellipse button to bring up the templates window. When you return from the templates window, the box will update to include the new soil type you added, and you can choose the new soil type from the list.

Click OK to use the new soil type as the default, or click Cancel to abandon the change.
